Alexander Pope Oil Painting Reproductions |
Alexander Pope was an American painter whose subjects included hunting dogs and game birds. His oil paintings record feathers and fur with attention to texture. In his still lifes he arranged hunting trophies against doors or wooden panels. Their precise detail belongs to the tradition of trompe l'oeil, art meant to deceive the eye.
